Manfest 2008

Manfest 2008 was rocking... only wish the rest of the gang had also joined in to make it a more fun experience... there was silk route, parikrama and euphoria... and the manfest party... and the awesome bonding with the current oig...
It was also good (for a change) to meet some of the profs... but the whole trip was heavily nostalgic... guess, nostalgia was not a wrong word to choose for the program afterall...

The day i grew older..

yes, you are right... we actually grow every day... but i was referring to the day when the age increases in terms of years ignoring the decimals... if you still havent got it, i am referring to my birthday you dumbo...

i had a good birthday two days back...

0.00 hrs... standing on the footpath outside mainland china in andheri with skg, PP, ravi and benkoot with whom i just completed having dinner a coupla moments before...

0.30 hrs... reached home where a black forest each were waiting for me and swapnil... (btw whose bday we missed a coupla days b4)... so it was one fun nite...
after a calm and peaceful morning...

16.00 hrs... left with idea, karthi, and 2 others for a trek to the forbidden boundaries of vihar lake next to nitie... awesome trek it was... not too long to tire us out... it was some good activity that i missed doing since say 2nd oct when i went out for river rafting...
the kick about this trek was the place being a prohibited area... here goes some pics...

21.00 hrs... treated idea, karthi and swapnil at pop-tates... and called it a day...

happy that this bday being an important one turned out to be interesting... this bday being important doesnt mean i never had an interesting bday or not because it is first bday after i started earning ... but it is important cos now that i started working and i wont have a bday on a weekend again for probably for 5 yrs or so... so no more sunday bdays as a bachelor :O

Last Night @ heLl

It might be a pretty outdated topic by now... but it certainly deserves some place on this blog... and since it was such a memorable one, i wont have much trouble writing about my last night in L

After dispatching my stuff home and seeing off my parents, the last few hours were filled with nostalgia. i can probably divide the period into five memorable events...

there was this walk arouond the campus and a long chat on the bench behind the library with a new found friend in those last few days at L. it was new and was different cos i always heard of others having those memories but me never getting one. It helped me improve my understanding bout others, know things tht i previously didnt and recollect some of the sweet memories at L.

this was followed by a long chat at the "crossroads" (as named by someone) near the mess with one of my closest pals at L, the ending of which gave me pangs of pain bout what i am gonna miss after the next few hours.

then there was the OIG send off party in nitya's room which was the most memorable one. it involveed loads of fun, a senti speech and of course a beautiful cake... that ended up on our faces...saying goodbye to these 'kids' was one thing i wished that never had to happen... and of course there was that strong desire again wishing that i was in pgp22. and also the goodbye i said in room 509 is being cherished even now.

this followed with a walk again around the campus this time with my wingies benkoot, diw, skg and sumit. how much i wished tht this walk never got over. but alas it had to.

then there was all that time i spent saying good bye to my abode for 2 years remembering all those precious moments i spent in tht room. it was an awesome night out.

seeing the dawn was not new to me... but this dawn was surely different.... it brought along the news that i would never see such a dawn again... i would never have a hostel life with all the fun loving friends ever again... there would never be another such beautiful campus and neither would there be all those full volume music waale night outs... no more insti parties to dance away to... no more long lasting arguments sitting in some1s rooming over nothing at all... the last dawn at helL marked the end of the 2 golden years of my life

The Race is finally over....

the rat race is finally over... one thing that leaves me happy is that finally it was the focus that helped ppl get there dream jobs... no guy with a focus could be seen cribbing about his job...

i hope in future this point gets taken note of and a new trend sets in....

as for me, i am heading to reliance... gonna work with their logistics team in integrated materials management unit, trying to improve logistics across their industries... the HR was telling me how interesting this job could be to work with consultants from ATKearney...

with lotsa dreams and apprehensions and excitement i am looking forward for my first job...

A Misfit Rat in the Ratrace...

As the 21st annual rat-race for jobs at IIML draws towards the climax, with just last few laps to go, we find that a lot of rats have already crossed the finish line and are signing out while some of us still have a lot of distance to run.

being a meek and timid creature right from childhood, and being born in the chinese year of the rat i can totally associate with the word rat.

but i seriously feel that i totally am a misfit in this rat race where most rats run the race for the money and nothing else. there are few rats which are not even interested in seeing the name of the company or the profiles being offered before they apply to it. all they need to know is the pay-package. on further thinking it might feel that what is wrong in the same as end of the day what matters is how much money r we earning.

but what i wanna know is, is there no value at all to something called job-satisfaction... seriously this rat race sucks and i feel i am the most mis-fit rat in the race.

but still, crossin' the finish line in this rat race is a must, and wishing myself all the best for the same i sign out... tata...

Last Class @ L

yday i had my last class at heLl... though i never crib about going to class, i didnt want to goto class yday bcos it was by vivek gupta... but still i thought i didnt hv enough attendance to bunk it and also wanted to sit in class for 1 last time. so i dragged myself there...

The class was not tht bad as he completed the class in less than 30 mins... then he put some soft music and started taking attendance. only then i realised that this is the last time i would be sitting in a class room... last time i would be answering attendance... my last day as a student and all the senti stuff... i thought the only sensible thing vivek gupta did was to put the right music at the right time :)

when the attendance got over i saw tht i actually i had enough attendance to bunk this class
anyways... no regrets... i liked this class for a change... how much i wished there were 2 more years in the mba (on second thoughts i hope not:D) but i wish i could spend more time with the GANG... learnt a lot from them...

coming back to what happened next in the class... we took loads of pics from vasava's and baisla's cams... there were ppl standing on the tables and taking pics... there were ppl jumping out of the windows...

i wanted to shout on top of my voice that i am done with my classes... but didnt :( just like the typical me...

i think there are a coupla more blogs coming up....
